The Dominican Republic, an Eldorado for golfers, is known for its attractive and beautiful golf courses. The island's best courses include Punta Espada, Los Corales - which hosted the PGA Tour for the first time in 2018 - and Teeth of the Dog at Casa de Campo Resort & Villas, the number one course since 2009. All of these courses are among the best and come at a price. Other courses such as La Cana Golf, The Lakes Barcelo Golf, Cocotal Golf & Country and Iberostar Bavaro are also definitely worth a round of golf. The various golf courses were designed by well-known architects, including Pete Dye, Jack Nicklaus, Robert Trent Jones Sr, Gary Player, Tom Fazio, Nick Price and Greg Norman.

In la Romana, in the south-east of the island, the first resort on the island was opened around 50 years ago, the Casa de Campo Resort & Villas. The golf resort is one of the best known and is a popular destination for discerning guests and golfers.

One of the best and most popular golf resorts in the world is located directly on the Caribbean coast, just 45 minutes from Punta Cana airport. The sprawling resort has beautiful beaches, a marina and fantastic golf courses. Experience and play the three Pete Dye golf courses, including Teeth of the Dog, the best golf course in the Caribbean. The excellent infrastructure also includes eight excellent restaurants, including the breathtaking Minitas Beach Club, a marina, three swimming pools, a fitness center, a spa with sauna and various treatments and massages, an equestrian center with polo, tennis center, deep-sea fishing, various shopping opportunities, three private, pristine white sand beaches and various sports such as snorkeling, kayaking and sailing. There is also a wide range of tours and excursions on offer. Another attraction is certainly Altos de Chavón, a reconstructed Mediterranean village from the 16th century, a cultural center for residents, tourists and artists from all over the world.

Casa de Campo Resort & Villas offers a range of different room categories. All 247 rooms and suites are tastefully, elegantly and stylishly decorated and have a bathroom, separate shower, safe, air conditioning, LCD flat screen TV, docking station for iPod, Wi-Fi, minibar, coffee/espresso machine and balcony or terrace with different views. Superior Casita is the smallest category with 45 square meters, followed by Elite rooms with 56 square meters. One cart is available per room, but this cannot be used on the golf courses.

The three outstanding 18-hole courses and one 9-hole course, a total of 63 holes designed by Pete Dye, are certainly a highlight for every golfer. The various fairways line the ocean, overlook the River Chavón and wind their way through the spectacular course.
