Ski resort information
Furano is not a huge ski resort, but a small town with its own ski area. Because word is getting around about how good the ski area and its backcountry are, Furano is growing. However, it is still relatively quiet on most days. So you will experience an authentic Japanese nightlife with many restaurants and bars. On the mountain, you'll enjoy some of the best tree skiing runs in Hokkaido, with various backcountry access points leading you to steeps, glades and gullies full of fresh powder. The cold temperatures in Furano ensure that the 9 meters of snow per year remain light and dry. The Japow here is just great! What's more, there are no crowds here and the express lifts take you to the top of the 3.5 km of slopes in just over ten minutes - guaranteeing top skiing and boarding.
