Snow Basin is located about 48 km north of Salt Lake City and is known for its breathtaking scenery, first-class runs and first-class infrastructure. The ski area covers an area of around 1,265 hectares and offers a varied topography with steep slopes, wide open runs and dense forests. Snow Basin is famous for its legendary powder snow. The ski area offers a wide range of slopes for skiers and snowboarders of all abilities. It has 104 marked runs, ranging from gentle beginner slopes to challenging steep slopes. Snow Basin was the venue for the alpine skiing competitions at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.
