Chiang Mai is a city with a very special charm. The "Rose of the North" is not only the economic center of northern Thailand, but also the tourist hotspot of the region. The old town, laid out in a checkerboard pattern and partly surrounded by historic moats and fortifications, is largely well preserved and has been renovated in many places. The old city center is home to many small gardens, temples and countless restaurants and food stalls. Chiang Mai is also the ideal starting point for visits to the surrounding mountain villages up to the border of Laos and Myanmar. A staircase with 306 steps leads to Chiang Mai's landmark, the temple "Wat Phra Thai Doi Suthep". With 14 courses with at least 18 holes, Chiang Mai and the city of Chiang Rai, around 160 kilometers away, also have a lot to offer golfers.

Located directly on the banks of the Mae Ping River, the Anantara Chiang Mai Resort is quiet yet very central. The luxurious boutique hotel with excellent service combines modern design with traditional Thai elements. The temples in the old town and the night market as well as the various restaurants and food stalls are within easy reach.
The Anantara Chiang Mai's two restaurants serve delicacies from around the world in a breathtaking setting. One of the restaurants is located in a restored colonial building with a beautiful terrace by the river, which used to house the British Consulate. The resort has a bar, pool bar, a fitness studio and a spa with sauna, steam bath and various massages and treatments.
The 84 rooms (50m2 in size) and suites are modernly furnished and stylishly decorated in subtle colors. They have a balcony or terrace with a view of the garden or the river. All are equipped with bath and separate shower, air conditioning, minibar, satellite TV, WiFi, safe and coffee/tea makers. The suites with a separate living area are around 100 square meters in size.
Chiang Mai Airport is 15 minutes away and the various, very attractive 18-hole golf courses in and around Chiang Mai can be reached in 15 to 50 minutes by car from the hotel.
