The village of Monestier has just 395 inhabitants. You are here in the lovely Dordogne-Gironde region, just under two hours east of the city of Bordeaux. The château hotel is located in the heart of the Bergerac wine-growing area in the Bordeaux wine region.
Monestier - the gateway to the best wine regions in France
Monestier is located around 90 kilometers east of Bordeaux. The surrounding area is crossed by France's fifth longest river, the Dore, which joins the Garonne at Bordeaux and then flows into the Atlantic. The historic town of Bergerac is only 20 kilometers away. In the region around Pays-Bergerac, also known as the land of 1000 castles, wine-growing is one of the most important economic sectors. It is not quite as famous for its vines as the neighboring Bordeaux region, but wonderful wines are also produced here. One of the most famous wine-growing areas in the Bordelais is in St. Emillion, just an hour's drive from Monestier. This historic town is built on a hill and is worth a visit at any time. The city of Bordeaux is also well worth a visit with its countless sights and excellent restaurants.

On the 150-hectare estate, you can choose between two four-star hotels: the Château des Vigiers, which used to be known as the "little Versailles", and the modern Relais des Vigiers.
The rooms at Château des Vigiers are furnished in a traditional style and some feature Louis XV, Louis XIII or Loux XVI style elements. The Classic rooms are 25 square meters in size, while the Deluxe rooms are already very spacious at 35 square meters. And those who want even more comfort can treat themselves to a Prestige room with 45 square meters or a Dependance Suite with 60 square meters.
At Relais des Vigiers , all rooms are bright and modern and are a comfortable 36 square meters in size. The rooms on the second floor all have a balcony. The rooms on the first floor have a garden seating area.
At the Schlosshotel, you will be spoiled with culinary delights by every trick in the book. The restaurant "Les Fresques" has been awarded a Michelin star and stands for the best French cuisine. The brasserie "Le Bistrot" offers lunch and dinner as well as a fantastic view of the lake and the hilly surroundings of the Dordogne.
After an intensive round of golf or a beautiful excursion, you can relax wonderfully in the spa. The facilities include a hydrotherapy pool, two heated outdoor pools, a fitness room, a sauna and a jacuzzi. You can also indulge in various massage treatments.
