The Montgomerie Course at Carton House Golf Club has already hosted the Irish Open three times. The course is a beautiful and challenging inland links course. Course designer Colin Montgomerie puts even experienced golfers to the test with numerous bunkers. However, immaculate greens and sweeping fairways make this one of Ireland's most popular golf courses great fun for all golfers. In addition to the Montgomerie Links Course, Carton House Golf Club also offers The O'Meara parkland course. The O'Meara offers a classic parkland experience. The beautiful course was designed by 1998 Open Champion and US Masters Champion Mark O'Meara. The fairways meander through ancient woodland and along the banks of the River Rye. Water also comes into play with the large lake. The 18th hole, which is played by over 30,000 golfers each season, provides a stunning backdrop with the historic manor house, reflective lake and picturesque boathouse, said to have been built for Queen Victoria. The course is designed to challenge golfers of all abilities.
