Golf course information
People have been playing on the Furnas Golf Course since 1939. Back then, Scotsman Mackenzie Ross created an 18-hole course, which is now one of the oldest in the Azores. Half a century later, nine more holes were added. However, this has not changed the original character of the course. Over a length of more than 6,200 meters, you can expect undulating greens, partly wavy fairways and an old and, in places, dense tree population that sometimes obscures your view. A precise game is therefore required! The water hazards also have their pitfalls. After a round of golf, you can devote yourself entirely to the beauty of the island of San Miguel: The Furnas Golf Course is not far from picturesque crater lakes and hot springs.
