The Palm Hills Golf Course was designed by none other than golf legend Jack Nicklaus. It is 6,600 m long from the rearmost of the four tees and 4,711 m from the foremost. The course is located in western Cairo, less than 30 km from the pyramids of Giza, which can be seen in the distance from some holes. The course is hilly with fairways that appear wide at first glance, but are lined with numerous bunkers. Water hazards also come into play. Typical of the Jack Nicklaus design, the greens are often elevated and also surrounded by bunkers. The greens are fast and undulating, making it almost impossible to complete the round without three-putting.
