Founded in 1885, the Royal Cape Golf Club is the oldest golf course in South Africa. The 18-hole course, which has regularly hosted the Cape Town Open and the South African Open on several occasions, is located at the foot of the world-famous Table Mountain in Cape Town. The venerable club is steeped in British golfing tradition. Ancient trees along relatively narrow fairways and some cleverly placed water hazards and bunkers make the challenging course a pure pleasure. But even good golfers should be satisfied with a few strokes over par on this course steeped in history.
