Golf course information
The world-renowned 18-hole championship course at Trump International Golf Links & Hotel Doonbeg stretches over 1.5 miles of crescent-shaped beach and centuries-old sand dunes along Doughmore Bay. The golf course in County Clare officially opened in 2002 and was immediately awarded the prestigious title of "Best New International Course" by Golf Digest. In 2010, Trump International Doonbeg was named European Golf Resort of the Year by the IAGTO. As early as 1892, the officers of the Scottish Black Watch Regiment considered Doonbeg to be an ideal place for links golf. Later, Trump Doonbeg was transformed by Dr. Martin Hawtree into one of the "must play" golf courses on the international circuit, preserving the character and soul of the site. However, the playability has improved enormously. Each hole has its own identity, which can reward as well as challenge any golfer.
