Vilamoura is located around 30 minutes' drive west of Faro airport. The town was specially designed as a golf resort in the 1980s and is unlike any other town in Portugal. It combines original charm with modern perfection. The area surrounding Vilamoura also has a lot to offer. For example, you can discover the historic old town of Faro or easily reach beautiful beaches. These include the Praia de Falésia, a five-kilometre-long golden sandy beach, or the beautiful Praia Vilamoura, which leads directly to the fishing port of Quarteira. The Anantara Resort also offers a free shuttle service to Vilamoura beach every day from 9.30 a.m. to midnight, as well as free access to sun loungers by the pool or on the beach at the Purobeachan beach club.
