Oman
The Sultanate of Oman is the pearl of Arabia. On the Arabian Peninsula, the Sultanate offers a wonderfully long coastline along the Arabian Sea, the Gulf of Oman and the Persian Gulf. Oman is a modern state with a rich cultural heritage and hospitable people. In recent years, a number of luxury hotels have been built that meet the highest standards.
Oman offers countless outdoor activities in breathtaking landscapes with unique deserts, rugged mountain ranges, lush oases and pristine white sandy beaches. Muscat, the country's capital, is a modern and booming city with elegant shopping centers and attractions. Particularly popular are the 16th century Portuguese fortresses, the Corniche, the Mutrah Souk and the modern, marble-clad Sultan Qabus Mosque.
Oman is certainly not a classic golf destination, but there are five very different and attractive golf courses to choose from, three of which are 18-hole courses: Al Mouj Golf Course, designed by Greg Normen, is an exciting links course. The Ghala Valley Golf Club is a unique course set in a wadi. The Muscat Resorts Golf Course (formerly Muscat Hills) is currently being redesigned and will reopen its doors in 2023. But the two 9-hole courses also have their appeal. The par-71 Ras Al Hamra Golf Club is a classic desert course with a clever arrangement of several tee boxes and large double greens. The Jebel Sifah course by designer Peter Harradine, on the other hand, fascinates with its great views of the mountains and the sea.
