Small Group Heliskiing on the way to Alaska

One of the largest heliskiing areas in the world is also one of the best: high up in northern British Columbia, Last Frontier beckons with huge glaciers and magnificent forest descents. Deep in the Skeena Mountains, you can powder with small groups of up to four people and guaranteed vertical meters. The complete remoteness in the wilderness not far from Alaska gives a trip to Last Frontier a special character. Read more.

The journey to Bell 2 Lodge is not exactly a stone's throw, but from there it's an extremely quick trip into the deep snow. The accommodation with the helipad right on the doorstep is located right in the heart of the heliskiing area. As up to three groups share one heli, there are additional pick-up points a few minutes away from the lodge. Thanks to the small group size, the skiing skills of the skiers and snowboarders can be finely tuned to each other. In addition, small groups usually mean less waiting time and therefore more time for freeriding.

A small number of down days further improves the prospect of first-class runs. Even in bad weather, the guides and pilots often find slopes for top tree skiing close to the lodge. The accommodation itself offers a wide range of amenities. Despite all the comforts, you will realize that you are in the middle of nature when you see moose drinking at the river near the lodge.

Our verdict on Last Frontier Heliskiing
Wilderness adventure with all the comforts, a gigantic area and small groups, guaranteed vertical meters and hardly any down days - we loved heliskiing at Last Frontier. The mix of alpine and forest runs is particularly suitable for good skiers and snowboarders. In the charming heliskiing village, you can really switch off without cell phone reception and enjoy both nature and luxury. Our conclusion: If you take the long way to the Alaskan border, you will be rewarded with first-class heliskiing at Last Frontier.
