Do you like to put the pedal to the metal when heli-skiing? The flight in the heli is enough of a break between runs? The descents can have a few more vertical meters than average for you? Then look no further: Bobbie Burns from Canadian Mountain Heliskiing (CMH) is your lodge! Look forward to high alpine and glacier runs as well as very good tree skiing, including some pretty steep runs. Some of them end right at the lodge. Read more.
CMH Bobbie Burns does not offer small group heliskiing as standard with up to 33 guests in the lodge. However, as only three groups of eleven people each are flown, the workload is quite sporty. You can also shift up a gear and book a private week in a "small" helicopter. Then there will only be four of you.
What's more, Down Days hardly ever force you to take a break. In the various valleys around the fly-in lodge, there are good conditions somewhere nearby in almost any weather. You can see this for yourself on the first day: shortly after your arrival, you'll hit the powder for the first time. A total of 60,000 vertical meters by the end of the week is not uncommon!

Our verdict on Bobbie Burns Lodge
It's not for nothing that CMH regulars return to the Selkirk and Purcell Mountains season after season. Bobbie Burns never fails to impress: with varied terrain, steep runs and a great lodge in the wilderness. You will have the most fun if you have experience in deep snow and are physically fit. The long descents demand a lot from you. And as you only fly with three groups, longer breaks are in short supply. Our conclusion: Bobbie Burns is the top address at CMH for sporty skiers and snowboarders.

Bobbie Burns Lodge was the third to be built by Helsiki inventor Hans Gmoser. It has since been renovated and modernized several times and has twelve single and 14 double rooms. Thanks to its location in unspoiled nature, it has retained much of its original charm. The amenities include a cozy bar with lounge area, sauna and jacuzzi. You can send your heliskiing impressions straight home via WLAN.

Check in at the Calgary Airport Marriott In-Terminal as soon as you land in Calgary - you don't even have to leave the building. CMH staff will greet you at your own CMH check-in desk. After a good night's sleep, you will take the shuttle bus at 5:00 am. Thanks to the time difference, getting up early is usually not a problem.
From Calgary, it will take you a good four and a half hours by bus to the helipad in Parson. By then, the magnificent panorama of Banff National Park will have sweetened your journey - at least after sunrise. If you prefer to travel by rental car, that's no problem either.
The helicopter will take you from Parson to the lodge. There you first check into your room and then complete the obligatory safety training. After lunch, you will already be on your skis or board.
You won't be powdering on your departure day, but you can fly back to Europe on the same day (departure not before 5.30 p.m.). However, we recommend that you plan an overnight stay in Calgary. If the weather doesn't cooperate and the return journey is delayed, you may otherwise miss your flight.
