The royal manor house dating back to 1732 was reopened in 2022. Since then, it has been given a new look, in which the historic features have been preserved and complemented with plenty of modern luxury. Various sights and golf courses are just a few minutes' drive away. Cork is just over an hour away, Dublin just under two hours. The hotel has its own helipad. If you want to experience something really special, you can arrive by helicopter or fly to your preferred locations.
"The Golden Valley": County Tipperary
Tipperary, which Jack Judge sang about more than 100 years ago in his song "It's A Long Way to Tipperary", is not as difficult to reach as the song suggests. And the journey is definitely worth it! After all, Tipperary is also known as the Golden Valley of Ireland. It enchants with a variety of lakes, mountains and valleys, many sights and countless places steeped in history.
These include, for example, the medieval village of Fethard, where you will find the famous McCarthy's - a bar, restaurant and mortician all in one. Ormonde Castle, Cahir Castle and Clonmel's Main Guard are located on the Butler Trail. The Rock of Cashel, once the seat of the kings of Munster, is a center of early Christianity in Ireland. On its grass and limestone base, the round tower, Romanesque chapel and Gothic cathedral look almost like a castle on a cloud. Gourmets will also get their money's worth in the many restored old monasteries.
Boat trips can be taken on the River Shannon. Lough Derg is one of the most popular excursion lakes in the country. The aptly named "Lookout at Portroe" offers a good overview of the landscape. Visits to the idyllic harbor villages and cycling tours in the county are also particularly beautiful.

The Cashel Palace Hotel is situated at the foot of the Rock of Cashel, one of Ireland's most impressive castles. Built in 1728 by Sir Edward Lovett Pearce, the architect of the Irish Parliament, the red-brick bishop's residence combines classicism and sophistication. The symmetrical façade conceals a majestic portico with paneled walls and curved staircases with stone-carved banisters. The luxury boutique hotel is just over an hour's drive from Cork and just under two from Dublin.
Its elegant 50 rooms and suites are individually decorated with luxury and historic charm. The rooms are spread over various wings. Depending on the category, you can stay in the Garden Wing or in the main building.
The hotel offers two restaurants. In "The Bishop's Buttery" you will be spoiled with Irish specialties from the region in a classic French ambience. In the bistro "Mikey Ryan's Bar and Kitchen" you can enjoy a pint at the bar or a delicious lunch or dinner in a cozy and casual atmosphere.
