Oman
The Sultanate of Oman is the pearl of Arabia. On the Arabian Peninsula, the Sultanate offers a wonderfully long coastline along the Arabian Sea, the Gulf of Oman and the Persian Gulf. Oman is a modern state with a rich cultural heritage and hospitable people. In recent years, a number of luxury hotels have been built that meet the highest standards.
Oman offers countless outdoor activities in breathtaking landscapes with unique deserts, rugged mountain ranges, lush oases and pristine white sandy beaches. Muscat, the country's capital, is a modern and booming city with elegant shopping centers and attractions. Particularly popular are the 16th century Portuguese fortresses, the Corniche, the Mutrah Souk and the modern, marble-clad Sultan Qabus Mosque.
Oman is certainly not a classic golf destination, but there are five very different and attractive golf courses to choose from, three of which are 18-hole courses: Al Mouj Golf Course, designed by Greg Normen, is an exciting links course. The Ghala Valley Golf Club is a unique course set in a wadi. The Muscat Resorts Golf Course (formerly Muscat Hills) is currently being redesigned and will reopen its doors in 2023. But the two 9-hole courses also have their appeal. The par-71 Ras Al Hamra Golf Club is a classic desert course with a clever arrangement of several tee boxes and large double greens. The Jebel Sifah course by designer Peter Harradine, on the other hand, fascinates with its great views of the mountains and the sea.

Oman impresses as the pearl of Arabia with unique deserts, rugged mountain ranges, lush oases and untouched long white sandy beaches. The Sultanate offers many opportunities for excursions and sightseeing, which can be ideally combined with a stay on the beach and a few rounds of golf. Day 1 | Arrival in Muscat and transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay in Muscat either in the modern Kempinski Hotel Muscat, which is located directly on the beach near the Al Mouj golf course, or in the luxurious boutique hotel The Chedi directly by the sea with traditional Omani architecture and purist design. |
2nd to 3rd day | Relax and enjoy - on the beach or on a round of golf. |
Day 4 | Discover Muscat, the capital of Oman, on a city tour. The program includes visits to the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, the embassy and government district, the old Muttrah district with its alleyways, the lively fish and vegetable market and the souk. A visit to the Bait al Zubair Museum provides a good insight into Omani history and the country's cultural heritage. |
Day 5 | Relax and enjoy - on the beach or on a round of golf. |
Day 6 | From Muscat, the journey continues towards the Jebel Akhdar Mountains. The oasis city and former capital of Nizwa is around 200 kilometers from Muscat. It is considered the spiritual center of the country. The highlights are the lively, traditional souks where traders sell handmade silverware, pottery and spices. The mighty fort with its 17th century cannon tower is a reminder of the city's former importance. Continue to Birkat al-Mauz. The clay village at the foot of Al Jabal Al Akhdar lies in the middle of an extensive palm oasis. The mud houses of the old town, washed out by the rain, stretch picturesquely across a mountainside. We spend the night at 2000 meters above sea level in the luxurious Hotel Alila Jabal Akhdar or in the Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar. |
Day 7 | Pure relaxation by the pool with spectacular views of the mountain ranges. Or explore the unique natural landscapes on a hike. |
Day 8 | In the morning you leave the Hadjar Mountains in the direction of Muscat. |
Day 9 | Departure or extension program of your choice. |
