Flying Moose Heliskiing Chalet in Revelstoke inspires winter sports dreams

At the Flying Moose Chalet, everything revolves around privacy. This even applies to heliskiing: if you want to book such a freeride adventure, the helicopter lands on a heliport that was built directly in front of the accommodation and is exclusively available to guests. The helicopter is designed for a Bell 212 and can accommodate up to twelve skiers, which is also interesting for the arrival and departure. Read more.

Heliskiing around Revelstoke is almost unbeatable. Our partners fly skiers and snowboarders to the Selkirk and Monashee Mountains, two mountain ranges that are among the best areas for freeriders.

But at some point, even the best powder day comes to an end. Those who can return from the deep snow to a luxurious vacation home such as the Flying Moose Chalet can consider themselves lucky. Afternoon tea is usually served there at 4:30 pm or a delicious cocktail is mixed - and of course there are also a few après-ski snacks. A separate chef takes care of the evening meal, putting together sophisticated menus, but also taking requests into account. These are gladly passed on by the hotel's own butler.

Wishless happiness thanks to the butler service
In general, the good spirit of the hotel is the right address when it comes to special requests. The butler helps with the selection of drinks, prepares movie nights in the lounge with a state-of-the-art sound system, provides crockery and ropes for the climbing wall in the outdoor area and can help out with common utensils that you may have forgotten when packing.

In any case, it's worth stowing swimwear in your suitcase. After sweaty hours in the snow, the outdoor hot tub is the ideal place to relax. The chalet's facilities also include a sauna, a steam bath and two massage tables to revitalize tired muscles. Those who simply want to toast to a successful experience on skis or board can choose from a wide range of exquisite wines, champagne, beer and spirits.

Flying high, heliskiing or at the resort
As much as a convivial evening in the Flying Moose Chalet can lift the spirits: It's more important to get up high the next morning with the heli. And if heli-skiing is not on the agenda, no problem: the Revelstoke Mountain Resort offers the greatest altitude difference in all of North America.

Our verdict on the Flying Moose Chalet
The Flying Moose Chalet is just as great as the heliskiing around Revelstoke. Great powder, countless runs and playful terrain with pillow lines and cliffs make Selkirk Tangiers Heli Skiing one of the top addresses for heli skiing in Canada. The area borders the Glacier National Park, among others. This provides access to fantastic glacier runs against a fantastic mountain backdrop. High alpine descents and tree skiing with open glades are equally outstanding. And thanks to its proximity to Revelstoke Mountain Resort, you can ski in excellent terrain even when the helicopters have to stay on the ground. Our conclusion: Classic programs from Selkirk Tangiers offer very good, small group and private packages offer almost unbeatable heliskiing. Just the right heliski package for such an exclusive chalet.
