Great heliskiing is not always half a world trip away. In Sweden, mighty glaciers and treeless slopes await you as far as the eye can see - easily accessible without jet lag. The snow-sure heliski area of Arctic Elements lies around 200 kilometers above the Arctic Circle. Here, good skiers and snowboarders powder between hundreds of peaks and picturesque fjords. Arctic Elements flies with small private or semi-private groups. The price is not based on altitude, but on the number of hours the helicopter flies. The first runs are only a few minutes away from your accommodation. On many runs, you will cover significantly more than 1,000 meters in altitude. Some lead down the Kebnekaise, Sweden's highest mountain.
At Arctic Elements, the heliski season lasts from the beginning of March to the end of May. Thanks to the proximity to the Gulf Stream, temperatures are pleasant even high up in the north. As a "bonus", you have a good chance of seeing the magical Northern Lights in the sky in April. And in May, the midnight sun opens up completely new possibilities. Its warm light allows heliskiing even in the late evening - an unforgettable experience.

Our conclusion about the Meteorologen Ski Lodge
If you don't need tree skiing and are looking for an alternative to well-known heliski destinations such as Canada and Alaska, you'll find it in Sweden. Arctic Elements scores points with its extensive area, small groups, picturesque landscape, especially near the fjord, and above all with its excellent accessibility. The wide range of down days on offer is also impressive. Spectacular natural phenomena such as the Northern Lights and the midnight sun as well as a dinner in the picturesque Låktatjåkkostugan mountain hut round off the trip. Our conclusion: For good skiers and snowboarders who appreciate heliskiing in high alpine terrain, Arctic Elements is a real insider tip.

The Meteorologen Ski Lodge is located in the village of Riksgränsen. The more than 100-year-old wooden house once served as a base for climate researchers and has since been converted into a boutique hotel with a spa area. The comfort is contemporary, but the historic charm has been preserved. Excellent local dishes are prepared in the hotel's own restaurant.
Guests on the private program stay at the Narvik Mountain Lodge just over the border in Norway. From there you have a magnificent view over the fjord and the Lofoten Islands on the horizon. With a bit of luck, you can watch the fascinating Northern Lights directly from the terrace. The relaxation facilities include a hot tub, massages and yoga. The lodge is located as ski-in ski-out accommodation in the Narvik ski area.
