Stellar Heliskiing flies from the relaxing village of Kaslo to the Selkirk and Purcell mountain ranges in the Kootenays, known for their dry snow masses. The world-class terrain with playful pillow lines, top-notch tree skiing, awe-inspiring steeps and gentle pleasure runs offers something for freeriders of all levels. The groups consist of a maximum of four guests and one guide. This allows for maximum service and flexibility.
The guest-to-guide ratio applies to all Stellar heliski packages. Single day trips with six to seven runs are suitable for anyone who has little time or wants to try out heliskiing. They can cover up to 5,500 vertical meters. If you fancy more, you can book unlimited vertical and powder with no altitude limit.
This billing method is standard for the other Stellar heliski programs anyway. Multi-day packages are available from two to seven days. And the Private Packages allow almost unlimited freedom, from the number of days to the start time in the morning and the last run in the afternoon. Along the way, areas are also visited that cannot be reached with regular groups.

Stellar founder Jason Remple recognized the potential of his area early on. As a catskiing guide, he had been traveling in the region for years, but only saw the less accessible peaks from afar. That changed in 2005, when he and his wife Kerry Luckey opened their Helsikiing operation. They were later joined by Stefan Engström, two-time mogul skiing World Cup winner and founder of Peak Performance and The Mountain Studio, and freestyle skier Björn Algkvist as partners. Since then, the two Swedes have been contributing their many years of skiing and business expertise.

Our TRAVELZONE verdict:
Stellar Heliskiing founder Jason Remple has hit the bull's eye with his choice of area. The large area in the Selkirk and Purcell Mountains offers a little bit of everything, from open bowls and feather-soft pillow lines to tree skiing in picturesque old growth forests. This allows the guides to react flexibly not only to the strengths of the skiers and snowboarders, but also to the weather conditions. The group size of four freeriders and one guide is pure luxury. So you get the most out of your deep snow adventure.
