Top ski resort with gold-rush charm
Breckenridge has a lot of charm and is reminiscent of an old gold-rush town with lots of good restaurants, cafés, bars and Wild West saloons. The price-performance ratio is excellent. With 52 percent black runs spread over 5 peaks, "Breck" also offers plenty of terrain for strong skiers. "My 'must ski' are the steep, ungroomed bowls around the Peak 8 lift," enthuses Kenny Prevost. In the lower section, on the other hand, the extremely wide slopes are flat, making Breckenridge a great place for connoisseurs and beginners. And for freestylers, Breckenridge is an absolute mecca with 4 terrain parks and a huge halfpipe. "Breck is part of the Vail Resorts, which also include Keystone (30 minutes) and Vail and Beaver Creek, less than an hour away.
