The Fairmont Banff Springs is one of Canada's most iconic hotels. Built at the end of the 19th century, the "Castle of the Rockies" sits enthroned like a Scottish castle on the edge of the forest above Banff. Many of its more than 750 rooms and suites still feature original architectural elements. Today, guests are pampered by modern amenities in a historic ambience, such as the huge wellness area or the perfectly tempered outdoor pool, which offers magnificent views of the imposing mountains and the snow-covered golf course in winter. The lavish breakfast buffet at the Fairmont Banff Springs enjoys an excellent reputation, and not just among gourmets. Further culinary highlights can be experienced in the various restaurants of the five-star hotel, while après-ski drinks can be enjoyed in one of the stylish bars. We think: You don't really need to leave the hotel at all. But if you do, you can reach the center of Banff with its many shopping and dining options on foot in around 15 minutes.
