The flair is historic, the heliskiing timeless: CMH Bugaboos is still one of the most beautiful heliski areas in the world. Here you can powder on huge glaciers between awe-inspiring granite towers. Hans Gmoser invented the most exclusive form of skiing and snowboarding here in the 1960s. But winter sports enthusiasts don't just come here for the old days - the choice of outstanding runs above and below the tree line is enormous. Read more.
With CMH Bugaboos, you fly with four groups of a maximum of eleven people plus guide. If the group consists of heavier guests, groups are also limited to a maximum of ten guests. The pace is more relaxed than with small group heliskiing. The large Bell 212 helicopters take you to the heliskiing provider's largest area, which offers slopes for all ability levels. You can make your first turns in the powder as soon as you arrive.
The oldest heliskiing lodge in the world alone is reason enough to visit the CMH Bugaboos. If you want a particularly historic experience, book a nostalgia trip. In addition to great spring runs, there are plenty of anecdotes from long-standing guides and managers.

Our conclusion about Bugaboos Lodge
It is no coincidence that the Purcell Mountains are the cradle of heliskiing. The terrain is extremely varied, the scenery overwhelming and very similar to the Dolomites. You only get an area like this if you are the first heliskiing provider to have the freedom of choice. Various special programs from CMH make the offer even more interesting for almost all skiers and snowboarders. Our conclusion: Do as many of the best skiers of all time have done over the years and be sure to pay a visit to Bugaboos Lodge.

The fly-in lodge at the foot of the mighty Bugaboo Glacier was CMH's - and therefore the world's - first and has lost none of its charm even after several renovations: You can feel the history. The 18 single and 15 double rooms each have their own bathroom. After a day of heliskiing, you can meet up for a drink at the cozy bar. However, the most popular spot among guests is probably on the roof. From the hot tub, you have a fantastic view of the surrounding mountains.
We offer you all our trips with an international best price guarantee. Due to the dynamic corona situation, certain destinations are not always accessible to citizens of all countries. Some heliski providers also have special prices for locals in this exceptional situation, but these do not apply to foreign guests. In order to avoid a confusion of prices and dates, we have decided not to publish price lists for the time being. We only want to provide you with transparent and reliable data. Therefore, please simply tell us your desired destination and we will calculate the current best price for you.
We will also keep you up to date on current special offers and last-minute travel opportunities at special prices in our newsletter. Sign up right here.
Additional costs:
Check in at the Calgary Airport Marriott In-Terminal as soon as you land in Calgary - you don't even have to leave the building. A CMH employee will greet you at the reception desk. After a good night's sleep, you will take the shuttle bus at 5:15 in the morning. Thanks to the time difference, getting up early is usually not a problem.
From Calgary, the bus takes a good three and a half hours to the helipad in Spillimacheen. By then, the magnificent panorama of Banff National Park will have sweetened your journey - at least after sunrise. If you prefer to travel by rental car, that's no problem either. Ask us, we have top offers for cheap rental cars
The helicopter will take you from Spillimacheen to the lodge. There you first check into your room and then complete the obligatory safety training. After lunch, you are already on your skis or board.
On the day of departure, you will no longer be powdering, but you can fly back to Europe on the same day (departure no earlier than 17.30). However, we recommend that you plan an overnight stay in Calgary. If the weather doesn't cooperate and the return journey is delayed, you may otherwise miss your flight.
