Our verdict on Galena Lodge
Loads of snow, steep descents, numerous terrain features and above all the outstanding tree skiing make CMH Galena a hotspot for good and very good freeriders. In this area, the Selkirks surprise you with new challenges every day. Although CMH flies with large groups here, the pace is quite high as there are usually no heliskiing beginners. Conclusion: deep snow and tree skiing fans couldn't wish for more than CMH Galena.

Check in at the Calgary Airport Marriott In-Terminal as soon as you land in Calgary - you don't even have to leave the building. CMH staff will greet you at the reception desk. After a restful night's sleep, you will take the shuttle bus at 6:30 in the morning. Thanks to the time difference, getting up early is usually not a problem.
From Calgary, it takes a good seven and a half hours by bus to reach the CMH Galena Lodge. By then, the magnificent panorama of Banff National Park - at least after sunrise - will have sweetened your journey. You will make a short stopover in Revelstoke. If you prefer to arrive by rental car, that's no problem either. You then cross Upper Arrow Lake by ferry. Take a short break there and enjoy the Canadian countryside for the first time on your trip. From the CMH helipad at Trout Lake, the helicopter will then take you to the lodge. After you have checked into your room, you will complete the obligatory safety training. Over dinner, you will fortify yourself for the first deep-snow turns the next morning.
On the day of departure, you will powder again in the morning and then drive back to Calgary in the afternoon. You will reach the airport at around 23:00. We recommend staying overnight at the Calgary Airport Marriott In-Terminal and booking your return flight for the following day.
