Small groups, top area and a special hotel

Golden heliskiing times in the mining village: Fortune hunters once chased shiny precious metal around Stewart, today freeriders come in search of deep powder. There is plenty of it in the north of British Columbia. In the Coast Mountains, the Last Frontier heliski area regularly sinks under up to 25 meters of snow per season. On the border with Alaska, you can powder in small groups of up to four people and with guaranteed vertical meters. Read more.

At 10,100 square kilometers, the Last Frontier heliski area is one of the largest and best in the world - and only for very good skiers and snowboarders. Along the saltwater fjord "Portland Canal", spectacular peaks and wide glaciers are lined up next to each other, and old stands of trees allow top tree skiing. Thanks to the small group size, the skiing skills of skiers and snowboarders can be finely tuned to each other. In addition, small groups usually mean less waiting time and therefore more time for freeriding.

The first-class heliskiing with Last Frontier alone justifies the long journey, but what makes the trip really special is the stay at the quirky Ripley Creek Inn. The Down Day activities are also quite remarkable. In addition to a stroll through the historic streets of Stewart, a town of 300 people, a trip to Alaska is one of the most popular activities. Beyond the border you will be "hyderized " - you have to experience it!

Our verdict on Last Frontier Heliskiing
Loads of snow, challenging terrain and spectacular peaks in a gigantic area: heliskiing with Last Frontier is perfect for very good and experienced freeriders. The small groups are a big plus for all those who want to make as many descents as possible and powder with skiers and snowboarders of equal ability. Guaranteed vertical meters give you planning security. Overnight stays at the rustic Ripley Creek Inn are an experience in themselves. Our conclusion: Ripley Creek by Last Frontier is the ideal mix of outstanding heliskiing and the charm of an authentic village in Canada's wilderness.
