Golf course information Mijas Golf Internacional Los Olivas
The Mijas golf course comprises two courses designed by Robert Trent Jones Senior, which are very different despite their common origin: Los Olivos and Los Lagos. Los Olivos, named after the many olive trees, is characterized by its shorter holes and fewer water hazards, which makes it somewhat easier to play. The course impresses with its strategically narrow, tree-lined fairways and elevated greens. In contrast, Los Lagos is the longer and larger course on the complex at 6,536 meters. It offers gentle slopes, wide fairways and few trees, but the numerous bunkers and nine lakes make it a challenge even for experienced golfers. The lakes shape the character of Los Lagos and give it its name. The course was extensively renovated in 2012, retaining the original design and enlarging the greens and all tees. While Los Lagos is based on water and sand hazards, Los Olivos impresses with its more tree-dominated architecture.
