Western Cape – Cape Town, the Stellenbosch wine region, and Hermanus
The Western Cape is one of South Africa’s most diverse regions, combining stunning landscapes, culinary delights, culture, and world-class golfing opportunities all within a compact area. Cape Town captivates visitors with Table Mountain, the lively V&A Waterfront, beautiful beaches, excellent restaurants, and exciting neighborhoods. Day trips along the coast—such as to the Cape of Good Hope—are also easy to plan.
Hermanus is best known for its spectacular seaside location and as one of the most famous whale-watching destinations. Especially during whale season, with a little luck, you can even spot the whales from the coast. Add to that beautiful coastal trails, laid-back restaurants, nature experiences, and attractive golf courses set in stunning surroundings.
The famous South African wine country begins around Stellenbosch. Historic wineries, vineyards framed by mountains, excellent restaurants, and numerous opportunities for wine tastings make the region a paradise for connoisseurs. The charming center of Stellenbosch, with its Cape Dutch buildings, cafés, and small shops, also invites you to explore. At the same time, some of the Western Cape’s most beautiful golf courses are located right in this region.
The result is an ideal combination of golf, wine, fine dining, nature, and the South African way of life—with short distances between the coast, the wine country, and Cape Town.
His passion for golf began in an unusual way. He first encountered golf as a competitive sport while studying sports science. He became the strength and conditioning coach for the Baden-Württemberg junior national team, where he worked with 14 young players with handicaps ranging from 7 to 2. Although some of them were not particularly physically fit, they played outstanding golf—unlike him—an experience that strongly motivated him.
With a bit of talent, a lot of practice, an enormous investment of time, a ball sponsor, and numerous coaching sessions, he improved his handicap from 36 to 5 within three years. He had caught the golf bug. After completing his degree in sports science, he began training to become a golf instructor and, following extensive continuing education, achieved the highest certification level as a Master Professional.
Today, through the VIP program, he aims to help motivated players achieve their dream handicap. With targeted tips and tricks right on the course, rapid improvements are often possible.
