Noble yet charming and relaxed - the luxurious five-star hotel in the stately residence of an aristocratic family from the 18th century is one of these magnificent houses with a lot of history, where things are nevertheless quite unpretentious. At Carton House, managed by Fairmont, you simply have to feel at home - in the cozy and luxurious rooms, in the restaurants and bars, in the spa, in the huge park and, of course, on the hotel's two top golf courses.
Golf, equestrian sports and much more
Kildare is a hotspot for golf. The county has hosted the world's best golfers for the Ryder Cup and the Fairmont, Carton House has hosted the Irish Open 3 times. The town of Kildare is officially recognized as an Irish Heritage Town. It is also famous in equestrian circles. The lush green countryside of **Thoroughbred County** is home to many of Ireland's finest stallions, stables and racecourses. Curragh, Punchestown and Naas racecourses are big names on the scene. A journey through the thoroughbred county should start at the Irish National Stud. The Japanese Gardens, on the other hand, are a retreat with 200-year-old bonsai trees, lava rock from Vesuvius and a path that traces the evolution of man. A different kind of garden experience awaits visitors at St. Fiachra's Garden. Named after the patron saint of Irish gardeners, this garden is dedicated entirely to the theme of stone and water - the most primal of all features of the Irish landscape. The county lies just outside Dublin. Its luxury hotels, spas and inns are the perfect base for excursions into the city. A leisurely boat trip along the Grand Canal is also particularly beautiful.

At this magnificent hotel, you will be immersed in the flair of the Irish aristocracy that once resided here. Steeped in history, the 5-star Fairmont, Carton House hotel in County Kildare combines historic charm with the modern comforts you would expect from a luxury resort. The manor house is surrounded by nature and yet only 30 minutes from Dublin Airport.
At Carton House, with its 169 luxurious guest rooms, there is plenty of space and freedom to get away from it all. The lavishly restored 18th century manor house was once the ancestral seat of the Earls of Kildare and Dukes of Leinster. This is where 18 of the rooms are located. The remaining 151 rooms are located in the Garden Wing with magnificent views of the estate's extensive parkland.
The two restaurants provide culinary highlights. "The Morrison Room" is recommended by the Michelin Guide. It is one of the best fine dining locations in Ireland. The focus here is on local produce, which is elevated to new heights by the young and ambitious kitchen team. In "Kathleens Kitchen", traditional dishes are given a modern twist. The restaurant is located in the old "Servant's Kitchen" with accessories from the 18th century, which gives the whole place a unique character.
Directly on the golf course, the gastropub "The Carriage House" serves food and drinks after a round of golf. The Courtyard Bar and The Whiskey Library offer exclusive drinks and whiskeys and in **The Duke's Rest" you can enjoy an exclusive wine tasting. There is also the classic Afternoon Tea, which is served in "The Gold Salon" or in the Rose Garden.
The spa is located in a carefully restored 18th century garden wing. It offers various treatments and massages. The Carton House Wellness also includes an 18-meter heated indoor pool, a fitness room and a thermal area.
Other activities and facilities include a tennis court, kayaking, archery, falconry and, of course, the hotel's own championship 18-hole golf courses, O'Meara (Parkland Course) and Montgomerie (Inland Links Course).
