What makes this trip so special? "Champagne powder", breathtaking terrain, the fastest ski lift in the world - and all this with one of the most successful ski racers of all time! Experience the ski trip of a lifetime with skiing legend Didier Cuche in the motherland of heliskiing. In western Canada, we immerse ourselves in magnificent powdery deep snow. Nowhere else in the world can you ski down such impressive alpine slopes on days with good visibility and "powder" in the forests when the snow is falling. And at the end of every dream run, the fastest ski lift in the world, an A-star helicopter, picks you up for the next round. Come with Didier Cuche on an unforgettable heliskiing adventure to White Wilderness Heliskiing, where we can enjoy unlimited powder skiing!
For the accompanied heliskiing trip from our ON TOUR series, we were able to secure the entire lodge exclusively for TRAVELZONE! So, together with Didier Cuche at WWH, we are all amongst ourselves. This will make you feel even more at home in the Canadian heliski chalet, which belongs to two Swiss people! After Didier Cuche accompanied us to Iceland last year, you are now going to the home country of heliskiing. Iceland was already fantastic and Canada is the next step towards legendary status. Because of the endless fun in the snow, but also because Didier is of course always happy to share stories and anecdotes from his racing career and the current World Cup scene. And don't worry: Didier can still ski damn fast, but on our tour he naturally adapts to your speed and ability. Nobody will be overwhelmed. Safety first applies on all our ON TOUR trips! The main thing is that everyone has fun in the snow.
And you will have fun with us. The indigenous people living in the region, the Tsimishan First Nations, call the White Wilderness Heliskiing area "Ganeeks Laxha" - the stairway to heaven. But you won't be going quite that far up after all. However, the beautiful mix of alpine and forest runs in the snow-covered Skeena Mountains is sure to give you a heavenly run or two. Especially since WWH was able to expand its area enormously in terms of quantity and quality in 2020.
Heliskiing with us looks like this: No piste signs, no boundary fences and untouched powder snow as far as the eye can see. Flying by helicopter to otherwise inaccessible peaks and then powdering through the "white gold" in small groups with an experienced mountain guide - that's skiing or snowboarding in a different dimension. Compared to other heli-skiing regions, Canada offers many decisive advantages: the unique "tree runs" through sparse forests make it possible to ski even in bad weather. In addition, the tall trees defy most storms and prevent snow drifts. Added to this is the dry snow, which has this unbelievably great powder snow quality. And with blue skies, even the daily flight into the area is an absolute highlight. Mountains, glaciers and virgin slopes as far as the eye can see. This makes every freerider's heart beat faster. It's an indescribable feeling when you hurtle down these endless untracked slopes. Alone with a handful of friends in a huge area where only a dozen snow sports enthusiasts are out and about, where otherwise there are tens of thousands in the Alps.
So, as you can see, there are plenty of reasons for every "powderhound" to come to Canada. But we have to "warn" you about one thing: our accompanied heliski trips, such as those with Didier Cuche, have "addictive potential". The "relapse rate" is very high!
Our guide
Who can claim to have been on a ski vacation with Didier Cuche? The man is a skiing legend. And not just because of his famous ski flip. Cuche has won practically everything there is to win in the ski circus. With more than 21 victories and 67 podium places in the World Cup, the five-time Kitzbühl winner is a superstar of skiing. Nevertheless, he is a likeable and approachable travel companion who is delighted to share his fascination for skiing and many insider stories from the world of racing with you. "For more than 20 years, I have skied predetermined routes on groomed slopes. Now I'm looking forward to sharing this special SNOW experience once again with other passionate skiers in Canada," says Didier Cuche. Didier Cuche has chosen one of the best heliski companies and some of the best heliski guides in the world to ensure that he can safely enjoy the great freedom in the snow with you in Canada*.
